Robbie Henshaw scores a brilliant try for Ireland against England at Landsdowne Road in the previous round, showing what a tremendous talent this young Connacht Rugby man is. What a legend!
Third Round – The Chances
The Welsh have a decent chance at roughly 45% while Ireland are favourites to beat Wales with a 60% probability. I think most Welsh and Irish fans would say it’s more 50/50 – at least it will feel that way! With Joe Schmidt coaching Ireland there is a sense that we are witnessing the development of a wonderful team, perhaps the best team we have ever seen. One thing is certain, he is most definitely the best coach we have ever seen!
The English are given an overwhelming 93% chance against Scotland in the Calcutta Cup, which seems a little over the top perhaps given that Scotland have a great coach and have shown signs that they are going in the right direction, albeit with a defeat against the Italians to deal with and England were well contained by Ireland. Scotland are not at all fancied to perform in what is usually a well contested affair. Scotland have a 14% chance of beating England. Might be worth backing?
To put things into perspective and to highlight just how poor this French team have been, Italy have more of a chance of beating them than Scotland have of beating England.
France are given a 77% chance of beating the Italians who have a seemingly generous 28% probability of coming out on top.
Its going to be a great weekend of Rugby and another chance to see the wonderful Robbie Henshaw.
Come On Ireland!
