Day 1 & 2
Connemara Maths Academy Summer Camp at Delphi July 9-15 2017
Our students arrived on Sunday evening from Europe, the US and from Ireland to join our students who are staying with us for another week at the beautiful Delphi Resort. A big thank you to Catriona, Carl, Steve and the whole adventure team for such a great welcome. Margaret, Mary and all the catering staff have been great looking after us all and everyone really at Delphi. It’s a pleasure to be running Connemara Maths Academy here where it’s quickly beginning to feel like our spiritual home on the heart of the Delphi valley with its waterfalls and salmon filled rivers. Night duty staff Dara and Kevin have been so helpful and good humoured it makes our experience even better!
Chuck Challenges led the way on Sunday as we all got to know one another. A great start to the camp was concluded with a fast and furious game with James.
It always great to see so many familiar faces returning to our camps and to see how they’ve all grown so tall and matured.
James led Maths workshops while chuck continued with his Science Adventures this morning followed by the Bog Challenge which Joshua captured so well on the GoPro camera.
I have to mention Eddy who helped get my car working again after the battery had gone flat. He saved the day there!
More Maths Puzzles and workshops with James and Challenges with Chuck built up an appetite for supper and another highly competitive game with James in the Gym.
We’ve a great bunch of students this week and already everyone is getting on famously and having a ball.
Enjoy the images and see you all tomorrow when we’ll have explorations of sound patterns, Chuck Challenges, tunnelling, Archery, high ropes and Music Technology! What a day we have in store!
