This morning’s session for the STEAM ACADEMY at Glenstal Abbey School was a special Christmas edition with plenty of seasonal cheer!

There was the serious business of finishing the 3D Product Design and tying up any project loose ends in CAD (Computer Aided Design) using Tinkercad software and 3D Printers. The best 3D designs from last week were printed up and handed to the winning teams. Students also created special animated Christmas Cards with music created by the students using MIDI controllers, samples and loops at the DAWs while  teams managed to produce a podcast before the morning session ended. There were plenty of spot prizes given out during the day including CMA t-Shirts and Christmas treats!

We can’t believe 2025 is drawing to a close and we are looking forward to getting back into it next year, where students will be busy building their projects, and getting their business plans, marketing strategies and branding completed in time for the big showcase next May. We can’t wait!
