It was great to be back at Glenstal Abbey School and for The Steam Academy’s first session of 2026!

Students were building wind turbine models and looking at blade design regarding traction and power, while others were building propulsion powered flight models and drones. The drones proved tricky to get in the air due to issues like blade direction and power polarity. Students were introduced to Arduino and the world of computers and sensor controls. Students also had the opportunity to produce their own Radio Ad and to use the 3D Scanner so it was another busy morning.
